Sergio Momo founded Xerjoff in Turin in 2003 with an idea that sounds almost naive now: build perfumes with no ceiling on the ingredient budget, put them in bottles heavy enough to feel like objects, and let the price be whatever it needs to be.
It worked. Two decades later Xerjoff sits alongside Amouage and Roja in the top tier of niche perfumery, and a standard bottle costs somewhere around €220. The Oud Stars releases go considerably higher.
That price is the whole reason this article exists. Xerjoff's most-loved compositions are not difficult, avant-garde things. Erba Pura is a bright fruity citrus that almost everyone likes on first sniff. More Than Words is a soft warm vanilla that reads as quietly expensive. These are widely appealing shapes, and widely appealing shapes get chased.
Arabian houses have been chasing them well. Lattafa, Al Haramain, Zimaya and Paris Corner have all released fragrances built around specific Xerjoff originals, and a few of them are good enough that people who own both wear the cheaper one on ordinary days.
Here are the eight worth knowing about, grouped by the Xerjoff they are going after, with an honest note on where each one stops being close.

If you want the closest match to Erba Pura and price is secondary, buy Al Haramain Amber Oud Gold Edition. If you want to test the style first, Zimaya Black Symphony costs under €20 and gets you most of the way.
For More Than Words, Lattafa Maahir is the consensus pick and has been for years.
For Accento, Lattafa Philos Centro is the least-known fragrance in this article and probably the best value in it.

Why Erba Pura gets cloned more than anything else Xerjoff makes
Erba Pura belongs to the Casamorati line, and it is built on three moves. A bright hit of Sicilian citrus at the top. A big, juicy, slightly candied fruit accord in the middle. Then vanilla, amber and white musk underneath to hold it all up.
What makes it special is not complexity. It is the balance. The fruit never tips into syrup, the citrus never goes thin, and the base is warm without being heavy. It works in an office at 9am and at dinner at 9pm, in July and in November.
That kind of universal wearability is genuinely hard to formulate and enormously easy to want. Which is why more Arabian houses have taken a run at Erba Pura than at any other Xerjoff.
Al Haramain Amber Oud Gold Edition, 120ml
This is the closest thing to Erba Pura we sell, and it is also the most expensive fragrance in this article by a good margin. Those two facts are related.
Amber Oud Gold Edition is Al Haramain's flagship and it behaves like one. The opening lands in Erba Pura territory within seconds, that same bright fruit-over-citrus sparkle, and it holds its shape through the day rather than collapsing into a generic sweetness after two hours. The amber and musk drydown is where the extra money went, and you can smell it.
The 120ml bottle also changes the value calculation more than people expect. Per millilitre it is roughly a fifth of what the Xerjoff costs.
Buy it if you know Erba Pura, you want the closest match available, and you would rather buy once than three times. Skip it if you are still figuring out whether this style suits you. Start cheaper.
Zimaya Black Symphony, 100ml
The one that surprises people. Zimaya is a younger house and prices accordingly, and Black Symphony goes after the Erba Pura core at under €20.
It is not as refined. The fruit reads a little louder and a little sharper, and the drydown simplifies faster than the Al Haramain does. But that is the wrong comparison to make at this price. The right question is whether it smells good enough to reach for on a Tuesday morning, and it does.
Buy it if you want to find out whether the bright-fruity-amber style is for you before committing real money. Skip it if you need something to last from morning until late evening without a top-up.
Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Coral, 100ml
Ana Abiyedh is one of Lattafa's most recognised names, and Coral is the flanker that leans furthest into fruit and warmth. That makes it the closer of the two Ana Abiyedh sprays to Erba Pura's sweetness.
It also comes in a 100ml bottle at the same price as the 60ml original, which makes the choice between them straightforward on value alone.
Buy it if you want the Erba Pura shape with volume, at the lowest sensible price.
Lattafa Ana Abiyedh, 60ml
The original takes the same idea somewhere quieter. Less fruit punch, more soft white musk, and a cleaner skin-close finish. If Erba Pura has ever struck you as too sweet, this is the version of it you actually want.
It is also the one to reach for if your office is the kind of place where fragrance is noticed.

One cheap trick: the Ana Abiyedh body spray
Being clear about this one: it is a deodorant body spray, not an eau de parfum. On its own it will fade within an hour or two, and it is not a fragrance purchase.
What it is good for is layering. Spray it first, let it dry, then apply your Ana Abiyedh or Coral on top. Fragrance clings to scented skin far better than to bare skin, and this is the cheapest longevity upgrade available anywhere in this article.
More Than Words: the one that smells like money
More Than Words is a completely different proposition to Erba Pura. Where Erba Pura is bright and extroverted, this one is warm, soft and slightly powdery. Vanilla and smooth woods, worn close to the skin, with none of the fruit sparkle.
People describe it as smelling expensive rather than smelling interesting, and that is exactly right. It is also a much harder thing to clone. A fruity citrus can be approximated with cheaper materials because the top notes carry the recognition. A soft vanilla-woods composition lives entirely in its base, which is precisely where budget formulations struggle.
Lattafa's Maahir line is the best answer anyone has produced.
Lattafa Maahir, 100ml
Maahir is one of the most consistently recommended Arabian fragrances on the internet, and it earns it. It gets the warm, smooth, faintly powdery character of More Than Words convincingly, then adds a saffron and amber lift that gives it a signature of its own.
Longevity is where it really separates from the budget end of this article. This is a fragrance that survives a full working day and the commute home, and people will ask about it.

Lattafa Maahir Black, 100ml
The night version. Same warm woody backbone, pushed deeper and smokier, with the powder dialled back.
If you already own Maahir this is not a duplicate purchase, and if you are choosing between them the season should decide. Maahir for spring and daylight, Maahir Black for autumn, winter and anything after dark.

Accento and the Casamorati gourmands
Lattafa Philos Centro, 100ml
Accento is the Xerjoff for people who like fruit but want structure with it. A pineapple-forward opening over a dry woody base, so the sweetness has something to push against instead of just sitting there.
Philos Centro chases that shape, and it does it under €20. The fruit is present, the woods underneath are present, and the composition holds together far better than the price suggests. It is the least-discussed fragrance in this article and, on a value basis, arguably the best one in it.

Paris Corner Emi Voux Patisserie, 100ml
Casamorati is Xerjoff's vintage-inspired line, and its gourmand releases are the most-loved things in it: caramel, cream and sweet spice, handled with enough restraint that they stay perfumes instead of turning into desserts.
Emi Voux Patisserie by Paris Corner goes for that territory. Sweet and edible, but with enough structure underneath that it wears properly rather than smelling like a candle.

How close do these actually get?
Here is the honest answer, and it is the same one we give about every dupe we sell.
A dupe is not a copy. Xerjoff can buy raw materials that a bottle costing a tenth as much simply cannot contain. What a good Arabian house does is reproduce the shape of a fragrance, the accords you recognise and the impression it leaves, using materials that cost a fraction as much.
In practice that plays out in three predictable ways.
The opening is always the closest part. Top notes carry recognition, and top notes are the cheapest part of a composition to get right. Someone who knows Erba Pura will recognise Amber Oud Gold in the first ten minutes without being told.
The drydown is where they part company. Cheaper base materials mean the final two hours smell more generic than the original does. This is the real limit of the category and no amount of marketing changes it.
Longevity varies more than similarity does. The practical difference between a €17 alternative and a €50 one is usually how long it stays on you, not how close it smells in the first hour.
None of that is a reason to avoid them. It is a reason to know what you are buying. A bottle under €30 that captures most of a €220 fragrance for a full working day is a genuinely good purchase. A bottle under €30 sold to you as identical to the original is a lie, and we would rather lose the sale than tell you that one.
